No Free Wolfenstein For You!

Looks like IT's sturdy cookies for everyone hoping to get a free copy of Wolfenstein by agency of Manveer Heir's wallet – Madden NFL may be slumping but IT's still an unstoppable machine.

Last month, Raven Hin Designer Manveer Heir release the gainsay: If Wolfenstein outsold Madden NFL 10 in August, he wrote on his Twitter blog, he would personally pay for everyone's replicate of Wolfenstein. The proposition was ready-made somewhat less thrilling aside the fact that there was absolutely zero chance of a Raven FPS, even a very good 1, beating EA Sports' number-one title on the sales chart, but information technology was still a fun idea and a slap-up way to beat up some publicity.

So something interesting happened: The current Madden hit the shelves and it didn't subscribe off quite as everyone expected. Analyst Colin Sebastian said the game was "trending slightly below design out of the William Henry Gates." The game was connected!

But it wasn't, non really. NPD numbers for Noble came unfashionable yesterday and Madden, unsurprisingly, submissive the charts. The number one game for the month was Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360; the PlayStation 3 interpretation came in at number three piece the PS2 version was number six. The Wii and PSP editions didn't name the chart but noneffervescent cranked out healthy numbers; collectively, intimately deuce million copies of the game were sold across all platforms. Wolfenstein, then again, didn't even make the top ten.

"For those of you who are waiting for your free copies of Wolfenstein – good-for-naught. No dice," Heir wrote earlier now. "Madden sold overrun a million."

In spite of the crushing defeat, Heir didn't seem to take the loss really badly; in fact, he seemed almost philosophical about it. "For the record I am non surprised or saddening we didn't beat Madden," he added. "Madden is a JUGGERNAUT in this industry. That was the distributor point of the 'bet'."
